Albuquerque Oral Surgery—Wisdom Teeth

By the time they reach the age of 18, most people have 32 teeth in their mouth. The problem, however, is that most people’s mouths can only comfortably fit 28. Oftentimes people’s “wisdom teeth” become impacted and threaten the health of the surrounding teeth. As dentists who perform oral surgery in Albuquerque, we are able to perform extractions of full boney, partial boney, and soft tissue impactions. Getting your wisdom teeth removed can alleviate the pain associated with impacted, abscessed, or infected third molars.

We use Nitrous Oxide/Laughing Gas
To ease the process of extracting your wisdom teeth, we make use of nitrous oxide—a pain-free sedative that we administer via a mask that we fit over your nose. Nitrous oxide can reduce the anxiety that many of our patients feel before a surgical procedure, as well as alleviate the pain involved with a wisdom tooth extraction. You will not need someone to drive you and pick you up the day of surgery. The effect of the gas is completely gone within 5-10 minutes of removing the mask.
